How Do I choose the Right Chiropractor For Me? – Chiropractor in Wellington

“I was seeing the chiropractor almost everyday for 4 months without any improvement. He told me that my neck was so bad I would likely need to be seen 3x/week for the rest of my life so I wouldn’t need surgery”

Yep, that’s really what someone told me during a consultation recently, and it’s actually something I’ve heard in various forms.

It’s one thing if some form of treatment doesn’t work for a patient or individual. There’s nothing on earth that has a 100% success rate. But making absurd statements that aren’t based in logic, reason, or evidence is a big reason why people can be distrustful of chiropractors, or any professional really.

Probably one of my least favorite things is when someone has a bad experience with a chiropractor.

A close second is when someone hears about another person’s bad experience and is scared of chiropractic because of something they’ve heard.

I know most of you are scared and skeptical. The truth is, you should be. We’ve had a bad rap for a long time, and it’s only recently where people don’t see chiropractic on the fringe. You should be cautious and skeptical for anyone who wants to take care of your body. This is your health and quality of life at stake. You should be extremely diligent in choosing a health care provider.

So How Do I Make Sure I’m Seeing a Quality Doctor of Chiropractic?

While I can’t guarantee that someone will have their life changed, or get rid of every bad egg in the profession, I do feel like I can hlep people ensure that they are in the presence of the right doctor for their needs. That’s actually a big reason why this blog is here to begin with.

Here’s a quick list of things to look out for when deciding on a chiropractor:

  1. What is this doctor’s area of expertise? If you’re like most people, you probably had an idea that all chiropractors are the same. However, lots of chiropractors choose to FOCUS their practice on a certain area. Some will only deal with auto-accidents, others in athletic injury, and others in family health. You have to find someone that’s in line with your goals as a patient. Someone who has suffered a whiplash injury is going to want a different goal than someone who is seeking maximum sports performance. While there is some overlap, the treatment plans and modalities utilized will be different for the type of care you receive.Make sure your goals and the provider’s goals are on the same page.
  2. How Transparent is the Chiropractor? This point isn’t just isolated to chiropractic, but it’s probably a very important point when choosing a chiropractor. One of the biggest complaints I hear when someone has a bad experience is that the chiropractor wasn’t transparent about their office policies, fees, and insurance practices. No one likes to be surprised, so it’s important to find out what to expect when it comes to fees, procedures, and the day to day patient experience. If the doctor dodges questions or rushes through them then trust your gut because they might be hiding something about the cost or care or duration of treatment. Most chiropractors have a Complimentary Consultation to introduce themselves to a patient before exams and treatment begin. Use this time to find out what your experience is going to be like.
  3. Reviews, Referrals, Reputation Word of mouth is the greatest marketing of any doctor. The internet is a wealth of knowledge as well as your community. Ask around and find out what chiropractor has the best reputation. While you’re asking, it can give you insight into what the patient experience will be like. How long will an office visit take? Roughly how much will it cost? Were there any surprises? Did you feel pushed? If you don’t feel comfortable asking others, there are always doctors that have reviews posted of them on Google and other sites.
  4. Does the Chiropractor’s Reccomendation Make Sense? This is probably the most difficult part to decipher, and also the area where you want to place a lot of trust in the doctor in front of you to be honest about what you need. If you hear something that makes you feel uncomfortable, then trust your instinct and get another opinion. Some of these things may include:
  5. Recommending a year of care before knowing how well you’ll respond
  6. Manipulative language or coercion techniques
  7. Being scared into a treatment program

Remember, you are the patient and have ultimate control over what happens to your body. That’s what informed consent rules were designed for. There is nothing more healthy or more powerful than an empowered patient. You have ultimate control over what doctor you wish to see.

That may mean you might have to spend more money, or see someone that’s outside of your insurance plan, but proper management of brain, spine, and nerves is way too important to leave it to just anyone.

If you want more tips, I’ve written an e-book that provides a comprehensive guide to choosing a chiropractor. It comes with specific questions to ask during a consultation that may help make the decision process more straight forward.

You Have Been Adjusted a Hundred Times. Why Has It Never Held?

FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN ADJUSTED A HUNDRED TIMES AND STILL HURT

Relief that lasts four days is not a correction. It is a rental. There is a structural reason your body keeps pulling back to the place that hurts, and until someone measures it, nothing changes.

Keystone Chiropractic & Neuroplasticity

Benefits of Chiropractic Care

Most people are aware of the pain-reducing advantages of this remarkable science. Here are other common benefits and specific conditions that we focus on at Keystone Chiropractic & Neuroplasticity:

If You Are Reading This, You Have Probably Already Tried:

And somewhere in there, you started wondering if this is just your body now.

It is not.

Keystone Chiropractic & Neuroplasticity

The Reason Relief Keeps Expiring

Things that hold have structure.

Every treatment you have tried worked on the symptom. The muscle that was tight. The joint that was stuck. The nerve that was screaming. And each one worked, right up until your body pulled back to the position it was in before you walked in.

Because the position never changed.

You have been treated by good people who never measured your structure, because measuring it takes an instrument almost no one owns and training almost no one has. Not their fault. It just means the actual question never got asked.

You cannot correct what nobody has measured. Everything else is maintenance.

Your MRI Was Not Wrong. It Was Answering a Different Question.

An MRI is built to find disease. Tumors. Herniations. Ruptures. The things that need a surgeon.

When yours came back clean, it did its job perfectly. It told you that you do not have the thing it was designed to find.

But it was never built to measure how your head sits on top of your neck. By how many degrees. Or how that position interferes with the nerves running through it.

Different question. Different instruments. Different results.

What we measure

The One Thing Almost No One Measures

Our doctors correct the alignment at the very top of your spine, and we do it with the specific precision required to return your body to the position it needs to be in to heal the way it was designed to.

That is the entire focus. Not a menu of services. One correction, measured and made properly.

Where This Actually Starts

It is called The Comprehensive. Sixty minutes, one on one with one of our doctors, and it runs in three parts.

01. We Listen

You talk. We listen. Your whole history, everything you have tried, what it has cost you, and what you have given up because of it. Not a five minute intake. An actual conversation about your specific problem.

02. We Learn

Then we measure what nobody has measured.

What is working. What is not. And why.

03. We Lead

You leave knowing the root cause, why this has never held, and exactly what correcting it would take. In plain language, with your own numbers in front of you.

Sixty minutes to finally get the answer that years of appointments never gave you.

This is what The Comprehensive actually looks like: a full structural exam, not a quick adjustment.

Keystone Chiropractic & Neuroplasticity

If We Cannot Correct It, We Will Tell You On Day One

Here is our promise.

If our doctors do not find a structural cause that we can correct, they will tell you on day one, and we will not take you on as a patient.

No treatment plan. No package. No follow up call three days later.

You leave with the truth and a direction. Not a sales pitch.

We would rather lose the patient than sell you another rental.

What It Costs To Find Out

Before You Book

Is this just a chiropractor?

Our doctors correct one specific thing: the alignment at the top of your spine. That is a narrower and more measured discipline than general adjusting, and it starts with instruments rather than hands. If you have been adjusted before and it did not hold, this is the reason we start with a measurement instead of a table.

Because sixty minutes of a doctor’s time is real, and a free appointment is an appointment people do not show up for. The $45 reserves the slot. If you come in and decide not to move forward, you get it back.

Then we tell you on day one and we do not take you on as a patient. You leave with what we measured and a direction to take it.

That depends entirely on what we find, and anyone who quotes you a timeline before measuring you is guessing. You will get a specific answer at the end of your Comprehensive, based on your own numbers.

Possibly. If your Comprehensive points to a structural cause, imaging is the next step, and your $45 is credited toward it.

Yes. We accept most PPO plans, auto/PIP insurance for accident injuries, and FSA/HSA funds, plus patient financing and direct-pay options if you’re uninsured. Call (954) 645-7272 and we’ll verify your benefits before your first visit.

4500 N University Dr, Suite 100, Coral Springs, FL 33065 — right next to the 7-Eleven at the corner of University Dr & Wiles Rd, with parking out front. Call (954) 645-7272 with questions.

Any prior imaging you have, a list of what you have already tried, and sixty minutes without a hard stop after it.
